Internet Television Begins!

Finally, the huge flat screens hanging in our family rooms can be used for more than just watching TV or a movie. With Apple TV (just $99), you can use your television to rent tv shows and movies and access a wide variety of free internet apps.   The setup for Google TV is $299.  Apple and Google have placed themselves in a great position to become leading providers of content and entertainment.

For those who are looking for a new HD TV, check out Samsung's Internet television that brings the best of both worlds together. The TV comes with customizable widgets that give you access to BLOCKBUSTER, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Amazon Video On Demand and more.

Computer won't recognize iPod?

First, make sure you have installed the correct version of ITunes. If you have a
64-bit edition of Windows Vista or Windows 7, you need  the iTunes 64-bit installer.  This is a different version than the default download link that appears on iTunes.com.

If you installed the 32-bit edition, uninstall it, reboot your computer.  Install the 64-bit version.

Next, it is possible that an incorrect driver was installed. Plug in your iPod, go to Control Panel > Device Manager and delete the iPod driver listed under USB devices. Unplug your iPod. Restart your computer. Launch iTunes. Plug in you iPod. The correct driver should automatically get installed.

Watch TV on Your Computer

This past week, I watched "Desperate Housewives" on my Ipad via the ABC App and my daughter and I watched, "Glee" via Hulu.com on her Apple MacBook. We did not have to schedule a TV recording or manage storage. Plus, we could pause the show at anytime.

Now, I am wondering why we pay for cable TV and multiple cable boxes...
